Short Fantasy, 2018 ( Pre-Production)

The story is about a little girl, that has been in a coma for 3 months. She is completely cognizant of her environment, and everything that is happening around her. She creates a fantasy world to escape the constant bickering when her parents come to visit her. She meets a boy, that just met in an accident. Recognizing the signs of an induced coma, she pulls him into her fantasy world. Together they must find a way to wake up.

WHEN THE LIGHTS GO OUT

Theoretical Production (Pre-Productions) 2018

When the Lights go Out is a theatrical production about the relationship between two opposing generations, both striving for the same things freedom and identity. Set in a two-bed room flat in an urban estate in Lambeth. The story centers on a single father Wallace Dwight, a first-generation immigrant from Jamaica that works for the department of transportation, and his son Nathan Dwight, a second generation born Brit, and a recent university graduate.

With Wallace’s plans to take a trip home for the holidays, his ulterior motive is to retire upon his return to Jamaica and live out the rest of his days eating and soaking up the Caribbean sun on the beach. With a need to help his son find security before he leaves, he finds himself pushing Nathan to find a job. Any job, after all, work is work to a man that has been working since the age of fourteen, who spent most of his schooling on the streets defending his blackness.

All these pressures play a part on Nathan's mental state and he finds himself isolated, and socially excluded he begins to think he can speak to God and that he has been given a special job, a job like no other, a job that will set all his brothers and sisters free, where black people will be the superior race. At least that is what Nathan thinks. As a son of god Nathan believes this is his calling, and nothing can stand in his way, not even his father. So, as Nathan tries hard to hide this secret from his father who grows more and more impatient. With the family home up for sale, and Wallace still hasn't broken the news to Nathan, the father-son dynamic finds themselves imprisoned by their own secrets and lies.
